GWO

We have been using our Oil and Gas certificates for all our offshore works over the last 7 years however, we have been getting asked more and more for GWO certifications. Finally having put it off for a couple of years and with the weather been more like November a rainy no fly week. Aurora Energy Services in Inverness came to our rescue with a late notice availability for a full GWO BST training course.

The 5 day course comprises of 5 modules including Working At Height, First Aid, Fire Awareness, Manual Handling and sea Survival, whilst a lot of this is covered by the Oil and Gas training and certificates the GWO course is purely aimed at the wind industry.

The course itself is thoroughly enjoyable especially the 1.5 day Working at Height Module, dangling on ropes and ladders learning rescue techniques for both conscious and unconscious casualties. Whilst daunting at first once you believe and trust in the kit is great fun but hopefully a skill you will never need to use.
